This video titled, Diversity Conference (Deep Impact) was moderated by Leon Williams in the School of Communications on April 21, 2010. This conference consists of two DVDs and this is the second of the two DVDs. Williams discussed diversity with the School of Communications faculty. The faculty continued the discussion of the diversity dialogue paper exercise forms. Faculty discussed the celebration of each other’s diversity. Williams said the research stated, the more you multi-culturize (Williams made the word up) there was a loss of individual diversity identity. They discussed ideas of what the faculty has to do to make their course stronger with diversity. The question was asked, what type of further education does faculty need to develop a better academic teaching diversity environment? Williams asked the faculty, how do you evaluate your diversity teaching in the classroom? Williams informed the faculty that he hoped the discussion raised some diversity mindfulness in teaching in the classroom.
