This video is part of the Elon’s New Student Call to Honor each year, which is an Elon University tradition. In this particular video, the Class of 2019 learned honesty, integrity, responsibility, and respect, which were emphasized on September 10, 2015 in the Academic Pavilion. The program for new students (with their Elon 101 class) heard from President Leo M. Lambert and other student class leaders about the university’s most cherished Honor Code principles. Elon University held its tenth annual Call to Honor program as new students took part in a ceremony that allowed campus leaders to share how members of the community are expected to live by these principles of the Elon Honor Code on and off campus. The Class of 2016 represents the pillar of Honesty; the Class of 2017 represents the pillar of Integrity; the Class of 2018 represents the pillar of Responsibility; and the Class of 2019 represents the pillar of Respect. The class students light candles for each of the pillars. The Elon University Code of Honor is read by all students with President Lambert. Students sign their names to copies of the Elon Honor Code following the Call to Honor program in the Academic Village. Each student received a ‘Respect’ coin. The signed Elon Honor Code hangs in Moseley Center. Megan (Unknown last name), Elon University alum, sings the Elon Alma Mater. Some names include: Leo M. Lambert, (Avery Steadman (Class of 2016 President), Jasmine Turner (Class of 2015), Kenneth Brown, Jr. (Class of 2019), Michael (Mike) Pitten (Class of 2019), Austin Berhio (Class of 2019), and Elyse Cowles (Class of 2019).
