This video, titled Dr. Tony Crider Talk on Galileo was held in the theatre in the School of Communications in 2010. Crider provided a lecture to his class on the game of Galileo. Crider used slides to teach his students as he lectured. The class saw a slide of Galileo’s first stretch of moons of Jupiter. Crider spoke of Saturn, we learned, had rings. Jupiter had moons. That nebulous patch across the center of the sky called the Milky Way was not a cloud but a collection of countless stars. Crider spoke of the Hubble Telescope that discovered galaxies beyond our own. Since the 1990’s, there has been 300 other planets discovered by Hubble, stated Crider, the most recent one is the Fomalhaut b Planet. In closing Crider stated, It is amazing to me that all these recent discoveries boil back to Galileo Galilei. Shots of the students listening and applauding Crider’s lecture.
