This video, titled The 2018 Student Voices on the Elon Undergraduate Commencement Speaker, in May of 2018. Steven House, Provost, asked Dr. Connie Ledoux Book, President of Elon University, about who would be best as the Elon Commencement speaker. House stated, “We always get good ideas from the class about that.” President Book stated, “I would love to what they are saying.” The first student stated, “They would have to be intelligently brilliant and offer great insights into our future.” The second student stated, “We need a great speaker. Someone who can really engage the crowd.” The third speaker, “We want someone who knows Elon to its very core and LOVES our university.” The fourth speaker stated, “Of course, they have to look good in a cap and gown.” The fifth speaker stated, “Well there are bonus points for a speaker who can make that walk across campus without tripping on a brick.” President Book stated, “Well, I guess there is one obvious choice. Let’s check his schedule. I have heard it’s looking pretty clear after March 1st.” The video closed with a graphic that read, “2018 Undergraduate Commencement Speaker, President Emeritus Leo M. Lambert.”
