This video, titled Translating Research to Evidence-Based Practice for Concussion Management: Elon BrainCARE, was presented by Eric Hall on February 2, 2017 in LaRose Digital Theatre. This talk was sponsored by the Distinguished Scholar Lecture Series. Hall is a professor of Exercise Science and a Faculty Athletic Representative. Hall discussed his research and advocacy efforts related to concussions of student-athletes at the collegiate level in the United States. He discussed his research regarding the influence of genetics and pre-existing factors on neurocognitive testing and recovery from injury, as well as the influence of concussion history on gait and balance. This research led to a discussion regarding the future of concussion management starting with concussion education and concussion disclosure to return-to-play as well as return-to-learn best practices.
