This aerial view of Elon College shows the campus between 1923 and 1929. The front of campus originally faced south, which can be seen here. The long oval driveway at the bottom of the postcard, where Long Building now stands, connected to Lebanon Drive, which continues to run behind the campus. The central building with the bell tower pictured is Alamance Building. To the upper left of Alamance is Carlton Building and to the lower left is Whitley Building. To the right of Carlton and Whitley is West Dormitory with an attached annex. Running parallel with Alamance, on the upper right, is North Dormitory. On the upper right to Alamance, below North, is Duke Building and on the lower right of Alamance is Mooney Building. To the right side of Duke Building is East Dormitory. At the top of the postcard are the back entranceway to campus as well as the power house (a small white building) and the bottom legs of the water tank, both of which supplied water and electricity to the campus and the Town of Elon College.
