This aerial view of Elon College shows the campus between 1971 and 1973. To the far left side of the postcard is the Elon College Community Church, and on the upper portion of the postcard are the athletic fields, Lake Mary Nell, and the Harper Center which contains Staley and Moffitt Halls. The structure with an arched roof and largest visible parking lot near the athletic fields is the Alumni Memorial Gymnasium with Jordan Gymnasium attached to the backside of the building. Centrally located on the postcard, with a cupola, is Alamance Building, the main administrative building on Elon’s campus. The buildings in close proximity to Alamance, in clockwise order from the flagpole, are Powell, Duke, Mooney, Long, Whitley and Carlton. Located at the bottom right of the postcard is Hook Brannock Barney Hall, and directly above this building are Smith Hall and Carolina Hall (closest to O’Kelly Avenue). West Dormitory (with porches facing South), and the attached Virginia Hall, and Sloan Hall can be seen to the left side of Alamance, Carlton and Whitley. McEwen Dining Hall and the McEwen Library Building are situated across from the Elon College Community Church on the left side of the postcard.
