Robert Sigmon wrote this article titled Building Sustainable Partnerships - Linking Communities and Educational Institutions intending to examine the relationship between education and community-based partners. To improve this relationship, the NSEE engaged funders in a dialogue about the need to address the issue of building sustainable partnerships. The three themes from the program are 1. language for sustainable partnerships linking service-learning and community development 2. Eliciting concerns and mobilizing capacities of each voice in a partnership and 3. Strategies for creating sustainable partnerships.
