In this evaluation of the Chapel Hill School System, Sigmon reviews the Teacher Inc. program in Chapel Hill to make an assessment of what has happened, what is distinctive about what happened, and where the program is heading. Sigmon's comments are based upon the assumption that the two major objectives for Teacher Inc are: the recruitment and placing of exceptionally bright young people in public school teaching positions and to carry out and demonstrate teaching methods and styles that encourage close teacher-learner relationships.
