In this article by Robert Sigmon, he reviews Wayne Meisel and Bobby Hackett's Building a Movement: A Resource Book for Students in Community Service. This book is to show students how to manage community service programs and what students can do for the communities and agencies. Sigmon highlights three topics that the book misses: community service is enhanced by reflection, the issue of who controls the community service must be negotiated, and when service and learning are balanced there will be more possibility for participants to serve and be served.
