This letter to the participants in North Carolina Service-Learning internship pilot study of Greensboro announces the beginning of a state-wide service-learning internship program in North Carolina. This program was initiated by the North Carolina Department of Administration and SREB. The program seeks to support and facilitate the roles of universities and colleges in applying their research and training capabilities to the needs for information, knowledge, and trained manpower of organizations concerned with the development of human resources and related problems. The study examines current service-learning programs, student manpower availability, and state developmental needs. The study provides recommendations for each of the problem areas related to service-learning.
