Scott Plaza is located in the heart of the Historic Neighborhood of Elon University, adjacent to East Haggard Avenue, in Elon, North Carolina. Alamance, Duke, Carlton and Powell Buildings surround the plaza. The project was made possible by a generous $100,000 donation from former state senator Ralph Scott. The plaza’s centerpiece is a fountain in memory of Scott’s late wife. Following construction of the plaza, a new network of brick sidewalks were installed along with 15 new lights. The plaza was constructed on a former parking lot that was located outside of Alamance Building. Prior to college coffee being moved to the Phi Beta Kappa commons, Scott Plaza was the location of college coffee throughout the 80s and 90s.
