Harper Center contained three buildings that included two residence halls and a dining hall located north of the Alumni Gym parking lot. The residence halls, Staley hall and Moffitt hall, were named after two previous Elon presidents, William Staley and Emmett L. Moffitt. Staley Hall was a womens dorm, and Moffitt hall was a mens dorm. The dining hall was named after Graham resident Dr. Graham Harden. The two new residence halls provided rooms for more than 300 students. The Harper Center was named after William A. Harper. Harper Center also became home of a student activities center annex and the WSOE radio station in 1975. Harper Center was torn down in 2012 in order to make room for the new Global Neighborhood.
