Lake Verona is located next to Danieley Way on Elon University’s Campus in Elon, North Carolina. The Danieley Center Apartments surround the lake. In March of 1998, the trustees voted unanimously that East Campus be renamed Danieley Center and the lake to Lake Verona, in honor of James Earl Danieley’s wife, Verona Danieley. The announcement was made during Mrs. Danieley’s 80th birthday on January 17, 2004.
