The Stewart Fitness Center is located inside the Koury Center, which is located off of Young Commons and East Haggard Avenue on Elon University’s campus in Elon, North Carolina. When opened in 1994, the fitness center featured a 3,400 square foot cardiovascular and weight/fitness room. The glass wall overlooked a spacious common area and Beck Pool. On the lower level there were five glass-backed racquetball courts, a human performance laboratory, a 1,200 square-foot free-weight room, an exercise studio, and new locker rooms. The fitness center was managed by campus recreation office staff and student workers.
