The Moseley Center is located in the center of Elon University’s campus, adjacent to Young Commons, the Inman Admissions Welcome Center, and Lakeside Dining Hall. The Moseley Center is named for Furman Moseley ’56, who was president of the student government association from 1955-1956, and a member of the varsity football team. Mr. Moseley is the president of Simpson Investments, a Seattle based firm comprised of Simpson Paper, Simpson Tumbler, and Pacific West Extruded Plastics. The addition of the Moseley Center to the campus in the early 1990’s provided a 74,000 square foot center, which acted as the focal point for the campus. The new center provided nearly five times the square footage of the old Long Student Center, including McKinnon Hall, a full catering kitchen, Student Professional Development Center, Mail Center, Student Center, a coffee shop, the Kernodle Center, and spaces for various on-campus organizations. On April 28, 1995, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher formally dedicated the Moseley Center.
