Danieley Center is a multi-building complex located on the East side of campus, past the Colonnades residence halls that was first constructed in 1998. The center is named after Elon president James Earl Danieley and his wife Verona Danieley. The center included five suite style dorms and a commons building that was added onto six buildings that had previously made up East Campus. These buildings lay on land that was previously the Elon College Farm. The commons building, named Daniel commons, had a dining area, computer lab, and lounge. In 2001, two more flats were added, and three more units were added in 2002, which led to the completion of a 17 building complex. Danieley Center was connected to the rest of campus with a tram that ran from Danieley Center to McMichael Science Center. Daniel commons underwent renovations in 2007 to include a fitness area, study and lounge areas. The commons underwent renovations again in 2015 which expanded its study areas and added a classroom to the building.
