The Station at Mill Point is a 25-building townhome-style residential neighborhood for juniors and seniors on Elon University’s campus in Elon, North Carolina. The Station is located south of the railroad on Williamson Avenue on an eleven-acre plot of land. The amenities include a commons building with a fireplace lounge, fitness center, offices, outdoor pool, amphitheater, basketball courts, volleyball courts, and other recreational facilities. The residential neighborhood is located on former Comer Field, which was used as intramural and club sports playing fields and for special event parking. The trustees initially considered selling the tract to a developer who would build a shopping complex but neither of their potential contracts worked out since the corporations were unable to secure financing. The Station at Mill Point opened in August 2012. The Depot Building was LEED Silver certified in 2013 and four residential buildings were LEED for Homes Gold certified in 2013 as well.
