Latham Park is the home of Phoenix baseball. The park is located on the corner of Phoenix Drive and Bank of America Drive on Elon University’s campus in Elon, North Carolina. The park is named after Walter C. Latham, who came to Elon in 1928 to play baseball and earn a college degree. He was the first-ever four-sport letterman and a member of the Elon Sports Hall of Fame. Following graduating in 1934, Latham was a coach and educator for nearly fifty years in North Carolina. In 2001, Bryan Latham donated $500,000 to fund new stadium seating, a computerized sprinkler system, concession stands, a press box, and a ticket booth. The stadium was renovated in again in 2008, which was made possible by a group of generous donors led by Elon trustee Bryan Latham and his wife who donated $250,000 to the baseball facility. The 2008 renovations include increased seating capacity with the addition of 545 chair backs, a fenced enclosure surrounding the facility, new FieldTurf playing surface, and a new drainage system similar to the one in Rhodes Stadium.
