El Centro de Espanol first opened in first floor Moseley and stressed fluency in the Spanish language and offered different programs for students. Students use interactive media, books, magazines, newspapers, and group sessions. And instead of receiving academic credit, students receive certification of their proficiency levels on their transcripts. They also have the opportunity to win travel grants upon completion of certain proficiency levels. In 2002, El Centro de Espanol moved to first floor Carlton after its renovations.
