William Henry Belk Pavilion was the fourth building in the Academic Village and was built from 2006-2007. The Belk foundation donated $500,000 to the pavilion and named it after William Henry Belk, the founder of the first Belk store. The dedication for the building was held on May 1, 2008, and was attended by Claudia Belk and Katie Morris, two family members of John Belk and William Henry Belk. The pavilion houses the Center for Engaged Learning and the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning.
