The LaRose Resources Center is located in Belk Library on the corner of East Haggard Avenue and North O’Kelly Avenue on Elon University’s campus in Elon, North Carolina. The Learning Resources Center was originally in the Mooney Building. Its purpose was to promote student interaction that was not feasible in the library setting at that time. Student tutors were available to students throughout the day and there were many self-help materials on writing papers and studying new languages. The first writing assistance center was also in the LaRose Learning Resource Center. When Elon received its first academic computer, it was housed in the LRC. Later, the LRC became the home to Elon’s first IMB and Apple microcomputers. Following the opening of the Belk Library in January 2000, the LRC moved to the first floor to better assist students.
