Belk Track was built as a part of the north athletic complex on Elon’s campus. It was funded by a $500,000 gift from Irwin and Carol Grotnes Belk. The Track is an eight-lane all-weather track and is next to Rhodes Stadium. The infield of the track contains a soccer practice field. The track is open to student and community use whenever the track-and-field team is not practicing. Belk Track was the sixth major facility in the north athletics complex, and it joined Rhodes Stadium, Rudd Soccer Field, Walter C. Latham Baseball Park, Hunt Field, and Koury Field House. The design of the track and field was done by Paige Design Group of Bahama, N.C.
