The Al-Aqsa Mosque compound sits at the top of the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem. It is considered a holy site in Islam and includes the Dome of the Rock, mosques, madrasas, zawiyas, khalwas, and four minarets surrounding the structure.
