In the Fall of 2025, the Mathematics and Statistics Department Colloquium hosted me to talk about W.E.B. DuBois's Data Portraits that were presented during the 1900 Paris Exhibition. This lecture highlights some of the work of DuBois to highlight the accomplishments of Black Americans at the turn of the century. The data portraits are not only informative for statistics, but presented artfully in a way that draws viewers to them.
