Elon alum Abdul-Malik Harrison, class of 2021, talks about his journey to Elon and encourages students to take advantage of the resources provided at Elon to help them feel successful in college and afterward. Through his spiritual calling to Elon from his late father, the beautiful campus, and the Odyssey Scholars program, he felt Elon was the place for him. His community when he was on campus was the Center for Race, Ethnicity, and Diversity Education (CREDE), which he now works at post-graduation. He emphasizes bravery for students by saying hello to people you pass by, talking to people at events, or asking a professor to talk after class. He wants all students to be as brave as they can be in their own way. Voices of Elon is a mini-oral history program led by the Committee on Elon History and Memory.
